Commonly used items in the disposal of chemical spills are chemical absorbent booms. Chemical absorbent booms are also called absorbent cotton, industrial absorbent cotton, and sometimes people simply call it absorbent cotton. According to the characteristics of the absorbent material, it is divided into: oil absorbent cotton, chemical absorbent booms (also called chemical absorbent cotton, liquid absorbent cotton, acid absorbent cotton) and general absorbent cotton. Chemical absorbent booms can control and adsorb petroleum hydrocarbons, various acids (including hydrofluoric acid), alkaline hazardous chemicals, non-corrosive liquids and large-scale oil spills at sea. Chemical absorbent booms are the most commonly used items to handle spills after oil and chemical spills.

Chemical absorbent booms have the following characteristics:

　　(3) Can be suspended, suitable for industrial or marine use.

　　(7) It will not decompose or deteriorate, is safe and environmentally friendly, does not support combustion, does not rot or mold.

　　(8) It can be incinerated or mixed with fuel, leaving only 0.02% ashes after high temperature incineration.
